RETREAT TO BE HELD ON THE LAND!
OPEN TO ALL SELF-IDENTIFIED BLACK, INDIGENOUS, AND PEOPLE OF COLOR
Description:
Whether in our daily practice or daily lives, we are faced with obstacles that either hinder us or propel us forward. How do we identify these hindrances that arise in our lives and bring attention to their antidotes so that our hearts and minds remain fluid, open, and receptive to our awakening path? As a BIPOC community, we will explore the Buddha’s core teachings with mindful awareness as a vehicle to freedom of mind/heart. We will practice seated and walking meditation with instructions as well as Yoga and gentle movement, connect with teachers in small groups, and hear Dharma offerings. All levels of practice are welcome.
Financial Information:
Sliding Scale: $385-$3360; 7 nights including food and lodging.
Please consider paying at the highest rate that you can afford: your generosity supports Spirit Rock, staff, and your fellow practitioners. Any amount offered above the Base rate is a tax deductible donation to Spirit Rock, and your generosity will enable and support the participation of others. These fees do not include dana for the teachers.
Supporter Rate (guaranteed single room) – $3360
Benefactor – $1785
Sustainer – $910
BASE – $385
PLUS a donation to the teacher(s)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Scholarships: Scholarships are not available for this retreat. We are offering this retreat at our reduced DEIA pricing.
Room Occupancy Update*: Starting on March 27, 2022, we returned to double and single occupancy rooms. Many of our rooms are single occupancy (only 16 of 80 rooms are double occupancy). We have also returned to offering a “guaranteed single room” rate; these rates are limited (16). This rate guarantees a single room while helping to support scholarships and all we do here at Spirit Rock. The remaining single rooms are not exclusive to the top end of the sliding scale; however, they are initially prioritized for those with serious medical needs.
*Subject to change depending upon COVID-19 situation.
IMPORTANT – Details on our current COVID Safety Protocols for In-person Retreats. Subject to change.
Selection Details:
Applications are accepted between February 7 – 28, 2023. All applications are assigned a random number. Together with the random number we are balancing many additional variables to create equity, diversity, inclusion, and access. Those factors include: scholarship needs & availability, affinity group “membership”, age, gender balance, and experienced or new practitioners. Applications received after the close date are automatically placed on the wait list (and will not be included in the first round of selections). Notification rounds can move quickly in the first few weeks following the first acceptances, so we recommend staying ready. You may be accepted sooner than you realize!
You will be notified about the selection results within two weeks of the application close date. If you have been offered a space, you will have two days to pay a deposit to accept/hold the space. If you don’t accept the space within this deadline, we will offer it to the next person in line.

Description:
The practice of law can be exceptionally stressful. Legal training itself, the demands of the workplace, and the kinds of people drawn to the profession come together to create what we might call the legal mind, which can make reducing stress and accessing well-being difficult. In this daylong meditation retreat we’ll practice meditation as an antidote to stress and burnout, and explore the perils of the “legal mind.” This retreat is open to all legal professionals and law students whether you are new to meditation or a seasoned practitioner.
All are welcome! No one will be turned away for lack of funds as space allows. For more information, please email Registration@spiritrock.org.

RETREAT TO BE HELD ON THE LAND!
Description:
In this retreat we’ll focus on the foundations of mindfulness practice as it has been transmitted from the time of the Buddha. We’ll explore mindfulness as a path of purification, cultivating awareness of breath, body, and other experiences with clear recognition, noticing and understanding how we are relating to what’s being experienced. Practicing in this way, we see clearly, resolve difficulties in the heart, and can glimpse the nature of mind itself.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Scholarship offerings: In returning to the land, we returned to our pre-pandemic scholarship options and policies. All scholarship rates require a minimum fee ($55/night). Scholarships are limited to TWO per calendar year for on-land retreats. And, while we are not able to offer “no one turned away”-type of scholarships for in-person retreats, they are still available for online offerings.
Hemera Fellowships – are you eligible? Learn more…

RETREAT TO BE HELD ON THE LAND!
Description:
Taking the themes of refuge, resilience, presence, and love, we will explore an intentional, heart-centered approach rooted in the Dharma and the Bodhisattva Path. We’ll explore what it means to walk a path that balances inner well-being while meeting the challenge of our planetary emergency.
Within a mindful, contemplative, silent container, supported by Insight Meditation and Dharma reflections, we will draw from teachings and practices that touch into timelessness, the cultivation of agility and resilience, and opening into the heart medicine of love and compassion.
The retreat is informed by a synthesis of Theravāda and Mahāyāna practices, in particular centered within the Quan Yin Dharma door. This includes the use of mantras, chanting, and ceremony. The retreat concludes with a Quan Yin Compassion Ceremony. In addition to Dharma talks, meditation instructions, and gentle, somatically-based Yoga sessions, there will be small group meetings with the teachers.
