The emphasis during this retreat will be on the continuity of awareness in all activities, which stabilizes and balances the mind. Relaxed acceptance of our moment-to-moment experience becomes the platform for investigation and wisdom. Particular attention will be paid to the attitudes in the mind that condition our understanding. This retreat is suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators. We welcome people from all life experiences, backgrounds and diverse communities.
Financial assistance is available for all Spirit Rock residential retreats. Our scholarship rate is $40/night and available for all those with financial hardship with special funds allocated to People of Color (POC), folks with serious medical conditions, and young adults (age 18-26). Scholarships are budgeted per retreat and we receive a greater number of requests for funding than we have funds to offer.
The lottery opens on February 14, 2019 and closes at 5:00pm on Thursday, March 14, 2019. No preference is given to when you apply within this period even if you need scholarship funding. All applicants must apply online. Please contact the Registration Department (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you do not have access to a computer. No retreat fees will be collected at this time, it is purely registration for the lottery portion of the process.
After the lottery closes, applicants will be notified by email of their status by 5:00pm on Friday, March 29, 2019; please refrain from calling before this deadline. If you are selected in the lottery, you will be sent an email with a special link to register and pay your retreat fees online. If you end up on a waiting list, you will be notified of your position on the list. ~Thank you for your practice of patience!
Also remember that the cost above is priced as a sliding scale. Please pay at the highest level of the sliding scale that you can afford. This allows others who need to pay less the opportunity to attend. Fee is for room and board. Teaching and staffing of the retreats is by donation at the end of the retreat. For more information, see Retreat FAQ.
