Description:
Having the time, money, and circumstances that allow for going on a meditation retreat is not a privilege that everyone shares, let alone the ability to live as a monastic. Many of us have commitments to care for children, elders or others, or to our work in the world. Is awakening only for people living a monastic or semi-monastic life, or can we find just as much depth through the life of a householder? Together, we will explore the possibilities for profound insight to be found in taking out the trash, writing emails, and sleepless nights of childcare. Through talks, guided meditations, and relational practices, this retreat will highlight and celebrate the multitude of ways we can awaken in daily life.
All are welcome! No one will be turned away for lack of funds as space allows. For more information, please email Registration@spiritrock.org.

This is not a 12-Step group, but we look to ways that members of the community can support each other on the path of recovery. Each gathering begins with a period of guided meditation, and new meditators are welcome. There is time for discussion about meditation practice and a recovery/Dharma theme each month.

Description:
Breathing well is both vital to our health and forms the foundation of the path of awakening. This daylong retreat will combine Dharma, meditation, somatic movement, and Yoga āsana for an embodied experience of the Buddha’s teachings on mindfulness of breathing, or ānāpāṇasati. Exquisitely detailed in the Ānāpāṇasati Sutta, mindfulness of breathing is a profound process leading to the cultivation of calm embodied presence, joy, insight, and ultimately awakening. This practice is highly accessible and easily integrated into daily life.
Each movement session will begin with supine somatic movements to unwind tension and facilitate expansive breathing, progressing into a grounding and energizing sequence of gentle Yoga āsanas. Our practices will focus on ease and enjoyment to balance and nourish the body, and rejuvenate the mind and heart. Participants will be empowered to develop and deepen their own practice. All abilities and levels of experience are welcome.
All are welcome! No one will be turned away for lack of funds as space allows. For more information, please email Registration@spiritrock.org.

Sliding Scale: $25-$108. Our sliding scale options for this program include financial support for our teachers. Code HA1B23.
Description:
In this program, we will be exploring what I call the “boundless dimensions.” They can also be called the formless dimensions or the dimensions of omnipresence. What this means is that we’re going beyond the dimension of working with the individual soul. By individual soul I mean our individual consciousness—that which forms our subjectivity and is the carrier and site of all of our experiences and perceptions. It is consciousness located in space and time.
To go beyond the individual soul requires some fundamental shifts in perception, and it’s worth saying from the outset that the teaching on this can be difficult to grasp at first. Human language evolved to express the viewpoint of human beings as individuals, and using that language to describe a completely different perception of reality has its limitations.
All are welcome! No one will be turned away for lack of funds as space allows. For more information, please email Registration@spiritrock.org.

Description: This Earth Day gathering will be a time to connect with each other in community to share our love and care for the Earth, feel any grief or other strong responses to the climate situation, and learn how to move through stuck places into inspiring action. A connection with community in a way that embraces the sorrows and the joys leads to a wholehearted commitment for wise stewardship of the Earth. With compassion and humility, we begin to understand our place as co-inhabitants, and take on the joyful responsibility to do our part to protect this planet and all the life it supports as an act of love.
We will enjoy presentations, meditation, and music, and connect with like-minded friends who celebrate the Earth by committing to be, as best we can, agents of healing for the planet and all living beings.
On-Land space is limited due to COVID protocols in place, please register here only if you can join us on the land. If you can only join us remotely online, please register for the Online version and you can participate by Zoom or watch the program later.

Description:
We are often led to falsely believe that there is nature, and then there is us, as though we aren’t all intrinsically linked and the same. The Dhamma is here to remind us otherwise. This daylong retreat will explore mindfulness of the body through the four elements to remind us that we are nature. This is not about sitting in silence as the world burns—it’s about tuning into the fact that if the earth is on fire, so are we, and letting that wake up the heart and inspire action.
All are welcome! No one will be turned away for lack of funds as space allows. For more information, please email Registration@spiritrock.org.

We will also explore how we internalize the judgments of our society in a number of ways, particularly related to race, gender, sexual orientation, and other identity characteristics. RETREAT TO BE HELD ON THE LAND ONLY! Community Meditation Center – Great Hall
Description:
Family Day
Family Days are a wonderful opportunity to spend the day connecting with your children, yourself and a community of supportive peers. Come play, share, learn, and open your heart!
Family Practice Period:
We start our morning with a program for everyone, weaving the theme of the day into songs, skits, and family activities. We have plenty for your children, with mindfulness activities geared toward youth ages 4 – 10 as well as a new program for older youth, ages 11 – 14.
Youth Program:
During the second half of the day, youth ages 4 – 14 will attend age-appropriate groups with our experienced Spirit Rock mindfulness leaders. They will play, make art, sing songs, and practice mindfulness together.
Parents’ Program:
Parents of children ages 4 and older will have an opportunity to meditate, hear a talk related to parenting as practice, and connect with each other through group discussions.
Pre-registration is required so we can plan ahead, especially for the kids’ activities. This is a popular event that usually sells out, so register early!
Volunteers are needed to assist with the event and attend free of charge, and children are welcome to volunteer alongside an adult. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator for more information at volunteering@spiritrock.org.

Description:
Join us for a foundational series on the common-sense teachings of mindful awareness. With a focus on interactive discussion, meditation, and community building, Sylvia (via video recording) and Heidi (live via Zoom) share practical, accessible teachings, and tools that support the integration of mindfulness, non-harming, and kindness into our everyday lives. Nurtured and uplifted by saṅgha through inquiry, shared stories, and connection, we explore how to bring our practice more fully into everyday life.
The series includes Dharma talks, discussion and reflection, guided meditation, and Q&A, with interactive discussion led by facilitating teacher Heidi Bourne. With easy, accessible instructions based on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, ethics (sīla), and lovingkindness (mettā), this beloved series invites you to take your practice off of the cushion and into the world.
All are welcome! No one will be turned away for lack of funds as space allows. For more information, please email Registration@spiritrock.org.

This is not a 12-Step group, but we look to ways that members of the community can support each other on the path of recovery.
