Description:
“We run away because we’re afraid of suffering. The block of pain and sorrow in us feels overwhelming. Even if we have time, we don’t come home to ourselves. We try to keep ourselves constantly entertained—watching television or movies, socializing, or using alcohol or drugs—because we don’t want to experience that suffering all over again.” (Thich Nhat Hanh)
This class series is about coming home to ourselves, reclaiming our power by resolving trauma and reconnecting to our aliveness and agency. Through science-based somatic and mindfulness practices, we’ll explore ways to cultivate safety and kindness, build resilience, and balance inner and outer stressors. Developing tools to overcome habitual fight, flight, and freeze reactions, we reclaim our power and reconnect with inner strength, peace, and aliveness. With a focus on the profound challenges of eco-anxiety and responding to racial injustice, we cultivate the resilience and agency necessary for well-being and engaging in transformative action in our communities.
All are welcome! No one will be turned away for lack of funds as space allows. For more information, please email Registration@spiritrock.org.

Description:
Judgments of a reactive and compulsive nature are very strong for many of us. They can distort our perceptions, make relationships with others difficult, and undermine our work. We will examine what judgments are and how to work with them, using mindfulness, heart practices, and inquiry, helping us to preserve the discernment often found in judgments, while working through their destructive aspects. We will also explore how we internalize the judgments of our society in a number of ways, particularly related to race, gender, sexual orientation, and other identity characteristics. Attendees will have the option of regular follow-up sessions to continue and deepen the learning.
All are welcome! No one will be turned away for lack of funds as space allows. For more information, please email Registration@spiritrock.org.

RETREAT TO BE HELD ON THE LAND!
Description:
Explore wisdom teachings from Buddhist and Indigenous traditions, based in Insight Meditation, mindfulness, and the sacred path of Indigenous Awareness. This retreat will explore similarities between Indigenous and Buddhist ways of knowing, in service of peace in the heart and mind, and wise action in the world. Gentle mindfulness practices open our connection with nature and ancestors, describe a path to decolonizing the mind, offer ways of gently releasing challenging experiences, and invite us to walk the Beauty Way and other sacred paths of Indigenous Awareness.
This retreat is silent except for teacher-led Q&A, small groups, or other practice meetings.
IMPORTANT – Details on our current COVID Safety Protocols for In-person Retreats. Subject to change.
Financial Information:
Sliding Scale: $275-$2400; 5 nights including food and lodging.
Please consider paying at the highest rate that you can afford: your generosity supports Spirit Rock, staff, and your fellow practitioners. Any amount offered above the Base rate is a tax deductible donation to Spirit Rock, and your generosity will enable and support the participation of others. These fees do not include dana for the teachers.
Supporter Rate (guaranteed single room) – $2400
Benefactor – $1275
Sustainer – $650
Base – $275
PLUS a donation to the teacher(s)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Scholarship offerings: In returning to the land, we returned to our pre-pandemic scholarship options and policies. All scholarship rates require a minimum fee ($55/night). Scholarships are limited to TWO per calendar year for on-land retreats. And, while we are not able to offer “pay what you can”-type of scholarships for in-person retreats, they are still available for online offerings as space allows.
Room Occupancy Update*: We have returned to double and single occupancy rooms. Many of our rooms are single occupancy (only 16 of 80 rooms are double occupancy). We have also returned to offering a “guaranteed single room” rate; these rates are limited (16). This rate guarantees a single room while helping to support scholarships and all we do here at Spirit Rock. The remaining single rooms are not exclusive to the top end of the sliding scale; however, they are initially prioritized for those with serious medical needs.
*Subject to change depending upon COVID-19 situation.
Selection Details:
Applications are accepted between [ADD LOTTERY DATE BRACKET]. All applications are assigned a random number. Together with the random number we are balancing many additional variables to create equity, diversity, inclusion, and access. Those factors include: scholarship needs & availability, affinity group “membership”, age, gender balance, and experienced or new practitioners. Applications received after the close date are automatically placed on the wait list (and will not be included in the first round of selections). Notification rounds can move quickly in the first few weeks following the first acceptances, so we recommend staying ready. You may be accepted sooner than you realize!
You will be notified about the selection results within two weeks of the application close date. If you have been offered a space, you will have two days to pay a deposit to accept/hold the space. If you don’t accept the space within this deadline, we will offer it to the next person in line.
