Event Details

Dates: August 31 – September 1, 2019; 9:00am – 5:00pm.
Sliding Scale: Dana (by donation): $0 – 200. Code NU1G19.

Description:
Throughout the early Buddhist teachings, we find encouragement to cultivate the four immeasurable states of heart and mind, for our own well-being and for the well-being of others. When used with clarity and understanding, these states are healing and peaceful. They can lead to a deepening of wisdom as we touch into the experience of anatta, not-self, and the sense of non-duality.

Lunch: Bring lunch for yourself and, if you wish, food to share with the monastics and fellow participants. You will have an opportunity to make offerings to the Ayyas as part of this monastic day of practice. Please bring only vegetarian food to share and please bring any serving utensils your dish requires. If your dish includes nuts, dairy or gluten, please label your dishes. We will have pens and paper on the food offering table for this purpose.

Other donations are also gratefully accepted so if you would like to bring provisions for Aloka Vihara Forest Monastery, please click here for a dana list.
