Nowhere is the power of contemplative meditation more profound than in the serenity of nature. Like the Buddha, mystics for millennia have sought refuge in the silence of the natural world.
In this tranquil and rejuvenating day, we will explore how meditation is supported by the stillness of nature as we spend the day in sitting and walking meditation in the hills and meadows of Spirit Rock. Throughout the day we will interweave sessions of chant and song designed to open the heart and awaken states of well being and insight.
In this time of crisis on our beloved earth, we will gather to intimately connect to the land with presence and reverence to heal and strengthen our hearts. We will learn from nature’s perennial wisdom teachings on change, inter-dependence, and the power of letting go. We will explore the interconnection between our inner and outer landscape and experience how nature touches and evokes many beautiful qualities including joy, peace, wonder and love.
The day will be held in spacious silence and will include dharma talks, discussion, guided meditations, chant, song and group exercises. No previous meditation experience necessary. All levels of practitioners are welcome!
The entire day will be held outdoors on Spirit Rock land. More details will be shared closer to the event.
Young Adults (18-26) and Seniors (65+ with limited income) are invited to attend this day for $45.
