6 CE credits available for $60, for psychologists and California licensed MFTs, LCSWs, LEPs, LPCCs, nurses, and chiropractors.

Description:
Our bodies experience both thoughts and emotions before they are recognized, and often go unnoticed in our daily lives. Profoundly impacted and shaped by thoughts and emotions, our bodies are treasure troves for self-reflection, insight, and eventually, freedom. There is a good reason that the Buddha highlighted the body as the first foundation of mindfulness!

By exploring the felt sense, or a culmination of an internal awareness of breath, sensations, thoughts and emotions, we’ll learn how to witness and be more fully embodied in our present moment experience. Through cultivating a deeper understanding of this body-mind unification, we will discover how to develop a greater appreciation of our choices when responding to life in each moment.

Teachings are appropriate for health care professionals as well as the general public. Health care professionals will be able to incorporate the tools and practices offered in this program in ways beneficial to clients or patients. Continuing Education (CE) credit available. See below for attendance requirements and more information.

Learning Objectives for participating health care professionals-

At the end of the program you will better able to:

• Describe how mindfulness can develop into, or be guided by kind awareness;
• Explain how mindfulness and somatic sensing can enhance self-discovery and regulation;

• Define somatic awareness and its relationship to mindfulness.
