ONLINE: Spirit Rock’s June programs are now offered online only. Our sliding scale options include financial support for our teachers. We invite you to try this creative form of practice as we take care of one another and respond skillfully to COVID-19.
Open to law students and other legal professionals, beginners as well as experienced meditation practitioners.
Description:
The incessant and often unreasonable demands of being a lawyer can take a big toll on our well-being as well as those we care about. This is often exacerbated by dysfunctional and uncaring offices or by being surrounded by constant conflict. We tend to be perfectionists, with relentless inner critics, and our legal training only strengthens this critical mind, that is easily misused. Take the opportunity to practice meditation to settle your mind and the nervous system and to incline your mind and heart to states of joy, compassion, and gratitude in a beautiful and supportive setting. Periods of silent practice will be interspersed with mindful dialogue to break the sense of isolation that many of us experience as lawyers. Open to beginners as well as experienced meditation practitioners.
*Continuing Education Credit is awarded for instructional time only and is not applicable for extended silent meditation time. Programs held in Noble Silence, including Residential Retreats and Extended Non-Residential Retreats, will include lectures, guided meditation and practices, and group exercises.
