RETREAT TO BE HELD ON THE LAND!
A Retreat for Self-identified Black Women of the African Diaspora
Every one of us are powerful beyond measure. As Black Women, there are many ways this truth becomes lost to our awareness. Contempt of the feminine and violence toward the black body intersect to colonize our lives and thoughts, constraining access to our internal resources and collective freedom.
Through silent and guided meditations, wisdom sharing, embodiment practices, and honoring the presence of our well ancestors, we’ll investigate the ways we internalize our oppression and illuminate the depth, power, and sacredness of our being. Collectively, we’ll practice the wisdom of the Dharma to harness our intuitive healing wisdom and creativity.
Through these practices, we’ll cultivate greater clarity of vision, resilience, and skillful response as we face life’s uncertainties. In particular, we’ll attune to the Buddha’s prescription for purifying the heart through lovingkindness and compassion, as we deepen our understanding of the importance of reclaiming joy on our journey toward liberation.
Sliding Scale: $200-$1760; 4 nights including food and lodging.
Please consider paying at the highest rate that you can afford: your generosity supports Spirit Rock, staff, and your fellow practitioners. Any amount offered above the Base rate is a tax deductible donation to Spirit Rock, and your generosity will enable and support the participation of others. These fees do not include dana for the teachers.
Supporter (guaranteed single room) – $1760
Benefactor – $1000
Sustainer – $500
Base – $200
Scholarship offerings: This retreat is offered at our reduced DEI rate for all; therefore, further scholarships are not available. While we are not able to offer “no one turned away”-type of scholarships for in-person retreats, they are still available for online offerings.
Room Occupancy Update*: Starting with our “Living with Awareness” retreat on March 27, 2022, we will return to double occupancy rooms. Most of our rooms are single occupancy (only 16 of 80 rooms are double occupancy). We will also return to offering a “guaranteed single room” rate and these will be limited (16). This rate guarantees a single room while helping to support scholarships and all we do here at Spirit Rock. Single rooms are not exclusive to the top end of the sliding scale; everyone has a chance of being assigned a single room.
*Subject to change depending upon COVID-19 situation.
