This retreat currently has a short wait list. If you did not apply for the lottery and are interested in joining the wait list, please submit an application. We do have cancellations, so the longer you’re able to wait, the better your chances of getting in. At this time on the wait list, priority is given to people of color, in order to create a balanced and equitable retreat experience (please continue reading retreat description below).

Retreat Description:
The experience of insight is essential to the realization of belonging to our selves, to each other and to nature. As our capacity for wisdom and compassion deepens, our ability to bring about real and transformative change for ourselves and in the world increases. The emphasis of this retreat will be classical Buddhist teachings along with practices that open our hearts to ourselves and others.

This retreat is for beginners as well as experienced practitioners. The retreat will be silent, with some periods of inquiry and sharing through relational practice.

To create a balanced and equitable retreat experience, we are striving for a retreat attendance that will include 50% people of color and 50% white folks/non-people of color.

Financial assistance is available for all Spirit Rock residential retreats. Our scholarship rate is $40/night and available for all those with financial hardship with special funds allocated to People of Color (POC), folks with serious medical conditions, and young adults (age 18-26). Scholarships are budgeted per retreat and we receive a greater number of requests for funding than we have funds to offer.

Location: Upper Walking Hall. This retreat is designed as a smaller and more intimate retreat and as such, it is held in the upper Walking Hall. This hall is located at the top of a flight of stairs adjacent to the main meditation hall. It is not accessible by wheelchair or scooter. If you have mobility limitations such that you cannot climb a flight of stairs, this retreat is not appropriate for you. Please contact the registration department (retreats@spiritrock.org) for more details BEFORE you register for this retreat if you have concerns related to accessibility to the upper Walking Hall.

Lottery Details:
The lottery closed at 5:00pm on Tuesday, January 8.

Applicants were notified by email of their status on Monday, January 21.
